Passionate interior design uplifts the human spirit. Interior Motives, Inc. established its nonprofit corporation, The Inspire Foundation, Inc., to share this powerful aspect of design with their community. Each year a community organization is selected that could benefit from complementary design work that they would not typically be able to afford. Because of a wonderful network of generous trade partners, vendors, and big hearted clients, Interior Motives is able to implement the design for the organization, creating an enjoyable and inspiring space. IMI’s nurturing stance continues with targeting design students by promoting ethical and professional aspects of the industry. IMI partners with local higher education venues and student organization to sponsor a scholarship and award internships for students who show the most passion and talent for the profession. We at Interior Motives believe that an organization's success is not measured by what they receive but by what they give. About The Inspire Design Competition: Established in 2006, the Inspire Design Competition is an annual opportunity to create both a competition to showcase local interior design student talent, and to assist a need in the community through an outreach program. Founded by Interior Motives, Inc. (IMI); the competition has four distinct phases. Phase I begins with identifying individuals, families or organizations in need of a remodel/re-design. Next, in Phase 2, IMI pairs with interior design schools at higher education colleges and universities to launch the program. In this phase, interior design students are introduced to the organization, family or individual identified in the first phase and learn about their goals and needs. Students then work on designs which they present in a competition during which one winner is chosen for the winning design. In Phase 3, students present their designs. The designs are judged by a panel and the winning design is selected. In Phase 4, the wining design is implemented. The winning design receives a $1,000 scholarship as well as a paid internship with Interior Motives. The second prize, a paid internship, is awarded, to the student who demonstrates the best teamwork. The $1,000 scholarship and both internships are provided by Interior Motives, Inc. If you are a student and would like to participate in the next annual competition, please contact Peggy at: peggy@interiormotivesaz.com (please contact by email only). The Inspire Foundation
Sunshine Acres is located in Mesa, AZ and is a children’s home that currently houses around 80 children who would otherwise be homeless. Sunshine Acres raises the children with non-denominational Christian Values and it is mandatory for the children to attend daily devotionals and weekly services. The Inspire Foundation project this year is the remodel and full re-design of a girls’ dorm at Sunshine Acres.
